According to the report I read, Toei did well last year with Hotaru and 
Hikari Genji Monogatari, and is thus in general considered to be in good 
shape, but it reported a major decline in profit because of losses in the 
value of stock holdings. Most of this decline, then, was just due to 
accounting for special losses.

I am not an accountant, however...
