Dreamworks' Ring

What's the general feeling on the list towards this remake? On the whole I'm 
against remakes, but a few have turned out quite well. Since it's part of a 
trend right now (Chaos, The Eye, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead 
etc.), I'm really not very optimistic about 'The Ring'. I'll go and see it, 
but I'm not convinced they will be able to capture the astmosphere of the 
piece, especially considering the previous credits of the writer (Scream 3, 
Arlington Road) and director (Mouse Hunt(!?)). What do you think?
