acting styles

Michael, do you know if the realist acting styles came to Japan via USA 
(Strassberg's Method Acting), or directly from Russia (the Stanislavski 
System)? As you might know, these two differ to some degree, with the 
Method putting more weight on the emotional side, for ex. on the use of 
affect memory in the preparation of a role.
