Hello,

I am Mattias Huss, a 25-year old Swedish student of the Japanese language, 
now at Stockholm University. After watching interesting/disturbing Japanese 
movies like "Eureka" and "Battle Royale" my fascination with Japanese 
popular culture has prompted me join this list and find out what kind of 
discussion the study of Japanese cinema is prompting, as well as what kind 
of research is being conducted pertaining to this subject.
Sweden lacks a tradition in Japanese cultural studies, but now in my third 
year of language studies and a with degree in journalism behind me, I am 
looking into the possibility of serious academical research. I am, I 
suppose, joining this list for inspirational purposes.
