charisma... question

I was looking through my dvd copy of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's "Charisma", and I saw 
a scene in one of the trailers that depicts the charisma tree blooming (it 
seemed like a digital effect). It really looked cool, but I was unable to 
locate it in the actual film. Am I missing something, or was it cut?
The sequence is very brief. To give you a better idea, I posted a few
