Gerry,
I'd introduce a few of the brief reviews, nothing in-depth ones and made in
Japanese language..
One review merely shows its evaluation with the number of the stars.
Tasogare Seibei is endowed with four stars, the same level as Road to
Pardition, a gang family story (http://www.geocities.co.jp). The other
appreciates that Yamada Yoji, in the socialist story of the village people,
challenged to picture a daily life of a poor samurai that Kurosawa Akira
gave up. The last sword fight between the two samurai would mark one of the
most memorable scenes of jidaigeki for its vivid reality
(http://homepage.2nifty.com/K-Cinemaddict.sub01.htm). The beautiful scene
of Sanada Hiroyuki having his hairdo made by his childhood girlfriend,
Miyazawa Rie, is one of the favorites of the latter reviewer, who mentions
nothing negative about the film.
I expect to read another reviews quite soon.
