Introduction

Hi,
 
I'm a filmmaker and academic returning to the kinejapan discussion list
after an absence.  I have just completed a feature 'Travelling Light'
and teach screenwriting in the Department of Media at Sydney's Macquarie
University.
 
I am working on a film project about Chaplin's influence and am
interested in any thoughts anyone may have about his influence on other
filmmakers, screen comedians in Japan.   I am also interested in any
films that could be seen as re-workings of Chaplin titles.  For example,
there are many 'tributes to', re-workings of "The Kid" in different
cultures.
 
Any thoughts appreciated.
