Self-introduction

[Kerim Yasar]

My name is Kerim Yasar and I am currently a Ph.D.
candidate at Columbia University studying modern
Japanese literature and film with Prof. Paul Anderer. 
I am writing my dissertation on the Shinkankakuha
('Neo-Perceptionist' School) and its relationship to
modernity, cinema, and mass media.  I will be
conducting research in Tokyo from August 2003 to
August 2004 with film scholar Yomota Inuhiko at Meiji
Gakuin Daigaku and with literature scholar and
Shinkankakuha specialist Toeda Hirokazu at Waseda.
