sake in films

Perhaps not the really "well known" films, but
in Yakuza (gangster) films they drink sake all
the time and on very different occassions.

For example extremly old school (like the scene
in Kitano's "Brother"), when a new member comes
into the group.

Or before the final fight (or in the middle of it)
the hero drinks sake straight out of the bottle
and cleans his katana (sword) with it
(I remember some scenes with Takakura Ken).

'Hope that could help a little bit.

Greetings

  Subject: sake in films

This is a bit of an esoteric question...
Can anybody think of images of sake drinking in
Japanese film (or Japanese tv for that matter) and how
the prevalence of drinking sake (as compared with say
whiskey and beer) has changed/declined in film
representation over the years...I guess what I'm after
here is how film/tv media has mirrored the decline of
this cultural symbol. Also, are there any outstanding
scenes of drinking sake that come to mind in well
  known films?

  Thanks,
  Karen
