Wanted to mention this since no one else has, and now it's kind of late
notice, but The Asian Film Festival of Dallas starts today, running
through Friday, May 30th. If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you
might be interested the Japanese films scheduled for the festival:

Waterboys
Suzuki's Pistol Opera
Nakata's Chaos
Iwai's All About Lily Chou-Chou
Gamera 2 and 3

Also included is a Miike program with Audition, Happiness of the
Katakuris, Fudoh: The New Generation, City of Lost Souls, DOA: Final,
and Visitor Q. A Japanese-American shorts program is in there, too.

The website with scheduling info is http://www.affd.org. Many quality
films from other countries are playing as well, including Korea's The
Isle, which I found to have tone and pace approaching that of directors
Shinji Aoyama or Kiyoshi Kurosawa.
