Anime on US cable TV

Thank you Joanne for the information. It's amusing to see how arbitrary someone's "essentials" list.
As for recent anime, I'm wondering if anyone has seen Kon Satoshi's latest anime Sen'nen joyu (Millennium Actress) and how good it is compared with Perfect Blue. Has it been well received in Japan? I'm very interested in purchasing it via amazon.jp, but the price is extremely high. According to Tokyo Kid (Boston's
anime store), its DVD with E. subtitles will be released by the end of this year, so I'm debating whether I should wait until then.
