Here some details about the Viennale-retrospective ART THEATRE GUILD -
INDEPENDENT JAPANESE CINEMA 1962-1984 that starts tomorrow, October 4. It is
the first comprehensive retrospective dedicated to this very important
Japanese production and distribution company. Until October 30 some 33 films
will be shown, among them many masterpieces of Japanese cinema.

The catalogue of the retrospective features on 176 pages essays by Hirasawa
Go, Yomota Inuhiko, Okubo Ken, Max Tessier, Roberta Novielli and myself, a
long interview with producer and manager of the Art Theatre Shinjuku Bunka,
