My guess is Jun Ichikawa's "T?ky? ky?dai" (from 1995). A film I would love to 
see -- but have not yet seen (as it is not available in any home video 
format).

On a related note, does anyone know if it's possible to obtain the director's OSAKA MONOGATARI / OSAKA STORY on video or dvd preferably with subtitles?
