About Hana to Hebi: as Jakob noted, it's a feature-length film -- one hour
and 55 minutes, to be exact.

Also, as Miles said, the 45-minute DVD is something of a rip-off, containing
as it does material usually found as extras on the film's DVD: namely,
scenes cut from the film, interviews and stills. Rentals of the DVD and
video started on February 13 and the sales of the DVD began on February 21.
But then again true S&M aficionados, unlike we pure-minded movie buffs, may
only be interested in the "good stuff" the DVD supplies. A smart marketing
move? See for yourself at the Toei Video online shop at
http://shop.toei-video.co.jp/detail.msp?id=5355

Bauhaus is also selling a book of stills for Y4,700 from their site
http://www.eic-book.com/detail.php?product_id=668

Dan, Ishii and his two stars will be making the rounds of three Tokyo
theaters on the film's opening day, March 13. The first appearance: 11:20
a.m. at Ginza Cine Patos.Might be interesting to see who turns up on a
Saturday morning to watch an S&M pic.Ishii fans and supporters? Serious
cineastes? Dominatrixes in mufti? Salarymen with a sincere interest in the
subject matter?
