Kinugasa at the National Film Centre, Japan

I was looking at the list of Japanese films released in 1928 (based on an IMDB 
search) -- and it looked like this may be the ONLY Japanese film from 1928 
that still survives.  Certainly all of the Ozu films from that year are 
considered lost -- and none of the Mizoguchi films sounded remotely familiar.

Is Jujiro really the only film left from its year?  How did it manage to 
survive, when everyhing else (or almost) has vanished?
