Two questions

For your first question, the IMDB (http://www.imdb.com) will give you the
Japanese title in romanji.  Go to the JMDB if you want the kanji:
http://www.jmdb.ne.jp/.

As for the Kyoto book, do you mind if it's in Japanese?  If so, then you'll
want to track down an excellent short 40-page publication put out by the
Kyoto Bunka Hakubutsukan to go along with the retrospective of Kyoto films
and filmmakers that they held last October.  I don't have the specific
catalog details, but if you email the coordinators of the festival, you
should be able to track it down:
