question regarding subs

With the help of a translator I'm going to make a subbed copy of an Okamoto Kihachi film from the 60's, or maybe 'Heitai Yakuza' by Masumura.  However if there are subtitled copies in the hands of list members then I will choose another film. 

Is there a list of films out there that people have subtitled? 

For fellow researchers, which do you prefer - DVD or VHS?

What is the best way of locating oringinal Japanese scripts?  Through the studios?  Having to transcribe from VHS is something I'd prefer to avoid...

I've been told that film scripts are often released in paperback form in Japan.  Any suggestions on how to locate these scripts?
