The latest Japan Foundation newsletter has an interview with Richie:

Richie is releasing his diaries this month, at least a portion of them. 
 From the way he described it to me, it's the sexy portions (in all its 
various meanings). "I passed sections to everyone who appears in the 
book, so I should be OK."

Did anyone end up going to his talk at Temple?
