Donald Richie diaries / interview

Donald was his usual urbane, articulate self at Temple tonight -- and got a
long, heartfelt round of applause from the full house. A question about
suicide brought forth a long story about his relationship with Mishima that
was as polished and revealing of both men as one of his better journal
entries. I hope someone makes a transcript.

Which reminds me -- I'm doing a round-table next Friday with Donald and
James Quandt of Cinematheque Ontario for a page on this year's FILMeX in the
Japan Times. Should be fun.
