The Department of East Asian Studies at New York University 
announces competition for two postdoctoral fellowships to begin 
September 1, 2005, subject to budgetary and administrative 
approval.? Applicants should be pursuing disciplinary work related 
to the East Asian region (China, Korea, Japan), and should have 
completed their PhD by September 2005 (or give evidence 
thereof).? The recipients will be expected to carry on research and 
to present some portion of this research to the Department at least 
once during the fellowship year.? The recipients will also be 
required to teach one undergraduate course.? Please send letters, 
current curriculum vitae, and three references by December 20,
