 Nah, you know what really did it for the audience was Michael Douglas' no
holds barred all-American tough guy routine. It is classic. There isn't a
single scene in that movie where his character is not mad at something, even
when he bonds with the Japanese cop and teaches him "the American way."

That should be a required film in Japanese film classes (honestly, you could
do some good writing on it).
