Bordwell on Mizoguchi

David Bordwell's new book, Figures Traced in Light, will be coming out 
in the coming weeks. David is publishing some supplements on his 
website, and one on Mizoguchi just went up. Check it out:

He also writes, "I hope in the next few months to post a more general 
one on staging in 1930s and 1940s Japanese film, a supplement to my 
chapter on Hou, and a response to some criticisms of my efforts to 
write histories of film style."
