Itami's films have already been released on DVD in Japan.

All 10 movies have been released in 2 boxsets. The first came out 
in december 2004, the second one in february 2005.

The movies will be re-released individually this fall, so you're
probably refering to their re-release...

The publisher was Geneon. It might be an idea to contact them - 
at least they should know who actually holds the rights the the
movies they've published a few months ago.
