Lady Ejima Scandal

Hi,
Don't know the event, but I think this is what you're
looking for -- the "Ejima Ikushima Jiken," a scandal
between an elder member of the Shogun's harem (Ejima) and
a famed kabuki performer (Ikushima). Seems Ejima was
purposely waylaid at the kabuki post-performance-party,
thereby missing her concubine curfew and giving the weaker
female faction more ammunition to demand palace power.

Did you happen to see "Koshu Saho Tokyo Kenbutsu",
"Bakudan Hanayome", or "Teito Fukko" in Pordenone? I'm
curious how they went down with audiences as I subtitled
them with my wife. I suspect "Bakudan" was a crowd
pleaser...
