Region2 DVD Box Sets

  It doesn't look like the Oshima sets will have english subtitles.  There's no confirmation for or against yet, but Shochiku doesn't have a good track record for subs.  For English subtitled releases, however, the Matsumoto Toshio set from Asmik Ace is fantastic (unfortunately War of the Sixteen Year Olds isn't subtitled in the set.)
   
  I think others have already replied about the Teshigahara.  A highly recommended set (and there's no sure sign that these films will be out in R1.)  However, in Britain two of them were released with excellent commentary and booklets (Face of Another and Pitfall) by our friends at Masters of Cinema.
