Japanese Cinema Updates in New York

The Japan Foundation, New York has launched a website, "J-Cinema: NYC,"
to offer moviegoers the latest information on Japanese movie screenings
in the Big Apple.

  Japanese Experimental Films in the 1960s-1970s 6/22-24, Paris

The Japan Culture Institute in Paris will host a screening of Japanese
experimental films at the small room of its office. Viewers will be able
to explore the past and present of Japanese films in this genre.

The Japan Foundation Film Series Part Six 6/23-25 Akasaka, Tokyo

For more than 20 years, the Japan Foundation has been showing
subtitled Japanese films overseas as part of its efforts to introduce
Japanese culture to the world. For the sixth film event, under the
theme of "The Masters and Jidaigeki," we have selected films from
the 1950s and 1960s by masters of Japanese cinema and starring
charismatic actors.
