Kantokubu

[Alexander Jacoby]

In the JMDB credits for Noboru Nakamura, he is credited as "Kantokubu" for Yoshimura's Tank Commander Nishizumi, along with others such as Kinoshita. The usual credit for an assistant director is Jokantoku. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? Is it just expressing the fact that there were several assistants on this movie rather than one?
