  I meant to mention this a couple of weeks ago, but people on the list might be interested to know that on December 28th, The Japan Times carried a full-page interview with Donald Richie, conducted by me, to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of his arrival in Japan on New Year's Day, 1947. It doesn't focus purely on film, though there are a couple of questions about that subject; it tries to cover as many as possible of his Japan-related experiences and writings.
