Mizoguchi and neo-realism

Thanks, Aaron, for your insights on film journalism.

On a slightly tangential note w.r.t. Imamura Taihei, I have read that  
there was a debate between Imamura and Iwasaki Akira about realism  
vs. fictionality, sometime in the 1950s and possibly in the pages of  
a film journal. I am hoping for the latter, but have not yet located  
it. So, I'm wondering if anybody has any leads or suggestions about  
where to look.
