Kitamura's LoveDeath

I've seen it and couldn't get halfway through. The beginning was kind of
fun in a very surreal sort of way but then it just became intensely banal
and pointless and not even Susumu Terajima could do anything to help. I
think it's by far Kitamura's worst film.
Todd.

Dear oh dear, sounds awful. But I don't expect much from Kitamura. Does
anyone know if it's properly been released in Japan yet?

I saw this at the European Film Market in Berlin a few weeks ago. I wasn't
impressed. Two and a half hours that was basically a re-working of True
Romance. I can imagine teenage boys loving this, but I found it quite
insufferable.
