Kitamura's LoveDeath

I saw it at the EFM as well, and was similarly unimpressed. It reminds of some Toei comedies with Sonny Chiba from the 70's, I assume some of the slapstick and gaudy humor is meant as a hommage. It is too obviously low budget to work that way though, and it is stupendously too long, and simply littered with shifty continuity. It very much seems like just a bunch of "guys" got together, drank beer, shot lots of scenes over a binge weekend, and had so much fun they decided not to cut anything out.
