Nippon Connection to Far East Festival

Hi there,

I'm just making my April festival plans, and working out how to squeeze in
as much of Nippon Connection and Udine Far East Festival as possible and the
logistics of doing a a round trip from the UK.
I know how there's a couple of people on the list who did this circuit last
year, but does anyone know the best way to get from Frankfurt down to Udine?
For example are there (cheap!) flights down from Frankfurt to Northeast
Italy (I think almost a year barely venturing out of my living room counts
quite well towards  offsetting my carbon emissions), or is the train a
viable option, or does this take several days?

Will anyone else be taking the same route as me I wonder? We'll probably end
up travelling together in that case.
