Japanese films aren't actually very succesfull in Korea. In 2005
Miyazaki's "Moving Castle" had about 550.000 admissions in Seoul. If you
compare that to "Welcome to Dongmakgol", which sold around 2.500.000 tickets
it's quite a small number. If i am not wrong, "Howl's Moving Castle" has
been, since
"Spirited Away", the most succesfull Japanese film. "Bayside Shakedown" has
sold well too,
but i can't recall the exact numbers.
Does anybody know about admissions of Korean films in Japan?
best,
Stefan
