Kitamura Kazuo

Sponichi and other news services report that the actor Kitamura Kazuo 
died on 6th of pneumonia. He was 80 years old. After graduating from 
Waseda, Kitamura joined the Bungakuza theater troupe, appearing in many 
of their productions opposite Sugimura Haruko and on TV as well. He 
appeared in films from the mid-1950s, but is most well-known for his 
work in the films of Imamura Shohei, whom he had known personally since 
he was young. These include the starring role in Black Rain as well as 
major parts in The Profound Desire of the Gods and Intentions of Murder.
