Tokyo screening Kanai Katsu films with English subtitles

Maverick filmmaker Kanai Katsu (born 1936) returns from a successful
retrospective at Oberhausen Short Film Festival this year to present his
films with English subtitles at a Tokyo gallery, Nov 23 (Fri) - 24 (Sat).
Kanai, most known for his Smiling Milky Way Trilogy (1969 to 1973) and most
recently _Super Documentary -- The Avant-Garde Senjutsu_ (International
Critics' Prize Oberhausen 2004), is a pioneer of Japanese independent film.

He now teaches at Tokyo Zokei University and the Image Forum Institute of
the Moving Image. 
The venue, by the way, offers you the chance to have drinks and good food
(the owner Sasaki Shoko is an amazing cook!) with the filmmaker after the
screenings.
