Thanks for the reminder email, Aaron. I'd originally sent this out a
few weeks ago - this series is actually being organized and booked
through my company, Outcast Cinema. Mark is, of course, the person
who put it together originally for the Udine Far East Film Festival
in 2005, and he is acting as special curator for
a new series at JS called "Monthly Classics," of which our Nikkatsu
Action series is the first installment.
These eight titles are also available for booking in other US and
Canadian venues. Right now we're looking at a small tour in the first
half of 2008, if Nikkatsu continues to be cooperative.
Three of the films - WARPED ONES, LIKE A SHOOTING STAR, and A COLT IS
MY PASSPORT - will also be screening at Fantastic Fest in Austin,
Texas, on September 24-26.
All films will be shown in new (well, circa 2005) prints with new,
digital English subtitles.
