Books

I am new to this list and perhaps this is a simplistic question but can anyone recommend books to read? I have read Donald Richie, 100 years of Japanese Film and The Midnight Eye Guide to new Japanese Film and a few others. I now have over $350 worth of books in my wish list on Amazon and need to narrow it down considerably. Thank you in advance for any help.
 
Oh, and I can not read japanese (unfortunately).
