This is neither Kara nor Harada, but the Okinawa-born and 13-time WBA Light Fly Weight Champion Gushiken Yoko (Y?k?/Youkou - with long vowels).
The Light Fly Weight class was at the time still called Junior Fly Weight, so the intert reads:
World J(unior) Fly Weight Champion
Gushiken Yoko

Betreff: Question about Terayama's Boxer (1977)
In Terayama's Boxer, there's a cameo-scene which seems to feature a 'real-life'
boxer (some archive-footage are used). Can anyone help me to translate this
title? http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=karajg3.jpg
(? J - Fly weight Champion)
Maybe it is the famous Juro Kara (did he pratice boxing before?)? Or Terayama's
friend Masahiko 'Fighting' Harada?
Thanks for your help!
Martin
