Hi,
I am the respondent on another panel being proposed for AAS 2009. If it is not accepted, I would be glad to be respondent on yours.
My name is Sybil Thornton, associate professor of history at ASU. I specialize in Japanese period film, but also trained to be a filmmaker and have considedrable expertise in narratology in Japanese cinema, medieval epic, and other medieval texts.
To see if I would suit your panel, please see my last book, The Japanese Period Film: A Critical Analysis (MacFarland, 2007)
Cheers,
Sybil Thornton
