Thanks for the additional informations. Assuming to the wiki page, i thought
that the 3's was typically a post-war reaction. So my questions proves to be not
so relevant in the end! :)

btw, i may be over-interpretating with my french background, but i can't help to
think about the 3's name as an alliteration of the snake's sense of danger
(which his
also a typically japanese erotic metaphor).. don't know if it shares similar
feeling in japanese  language.
