Hi all,
I think Aaron may have posted this job already, but my memory is
faulty. A colleague asked me to pass this around, so here's the info:
-------------------
The University of Manchester advertises a new permanent Lectureship
in Japanese Studies, with special focus on either visual studies,
translation studies, or both (the advert stresses visual studies, but
experts in translation studies will also be considered favourably).
The successful candidate will conduct research and help to teach the
undergraduate programme in Japanese Studies, and will also have
opportunities to contribute to postgraduate (and perhaps also
undergraduate) teaching in visual studies/translation studies, and to
undertake PhD supervision. For more details, see the university
website (<>www.manchester.ac.uk/aboutus/jobs/academic/ ); enquiries
to Professor Ian Reader
(<mailto:ian.reader at manchester.ac.uk>ian.reader at manchester.ac.uk ).
Please note that Manchester is prepared to fly people in for an
interview, so good candidates throughout the world are strongly
encouraged to apply.
------------------
Best,
Melek
