Hi everyone,
this event should be interesting for anyone interested in Jidaigeki: From the end of July Kasuga Taiichi will hold a series of events talking about the development of Jaidaigeki in television (where the genre basically migrated to in the 1960s/70s, and has mostly stayed there since). There will be several taidan, it seems, and there will be a focus on the influence of novelist Ikenami Shoutarou.
Kasuga Taiichi has been doing research the topic for years, writing a lot of fascinating stuff about the fate of the studio lots and staff in Kyoto that switched from film production to television (especially the Shochiku lot, now used by Eizou Kyoto). The event will be held at the Yomiuri Nihon Terebi Bunka Center in Kita Senju in Tokyo.
I'm attaching the details below, and hope this won't go mojibake-
