Hi all,

I imagine most of you are aware of this
publication, but I just ran across a review of it
in _Japanese Book News_ no. 55 (Spring 2008).

_Sensei to watashi_, by Yomota Inuhiko.
Shinchôsha, 2007. ¥1,500. ISBN 978-4-10-367106-0.

I'll type out part of the review:

...the author of this memoir of his early
adulthood...is active in a wide range of fields
including movie history, literature, manga, and
urban studies.

The sensei he is talking about is Yura Kimiyoshi,
who was at the time an assistant professor of
English literature at the U of Tokyo.

Thought this might be of interest to some of you,
especially considering he was a guest at last
year's Kinema Club conference in Frankfurt. The
discussion is, I'm guessing, a bit more on the
literary side.

Cheers,
Melek
