Arab-Japan

Hello,

Happy Kafun-shou season to all!

I hope someone has time to give me advice about something
most probably discussed before on this ML.

I'm organizing an event that includes a panel discussion
about animation in the context of Japanese-Arab exchange
(mostly about the influence of anime in the Arab world).

A Syrian "manga" artist from Syria will participate and I
was planning to use some of his anime works to introduce
him. That would involve showing the works on a screen
behind the panelists. One work is about 1 minute long. The
anime is his, but the music is from Gundam. Would it be
illegal to feature Gundam music without permission from
Sunrize, even if I talk in the lecture about the lack of
copyright protection in the Arab World?

In case someone is intersted in such topics in Tokyo (and
Kyoto), here is the HP of the event.

Also for those interested, the Arab Film Festival in Tokyo
is currently taking place, and a Syrian film called "Out
of Coverage Area" features a Japanese character (as a
student of Arabic in Damascus), a first in Syrian cinema
and perhaps in Arab cinema.

Many thanks for any advice,
Najib
