Yasukuni, by the way, is opening today at Cine Amuse in Shinjuku, where it will be shown until May 9. After that it is sceduled to be screened in two other cinemas in Tokyo. At 11:00, 13:40, 16:20 and 19:00 Cine Amuse is showing the film with english subtitles.

The discussion of Yasukuni has toned down on KineJapan, but I noticed
that the mailing I get from the Japanese embassy featured a screening
of Wings of Defeat, the film by Risa Morimoto (and produced by Linda
Hoagland), about the kamikaze. Although this film is definitely
critical of wartime Japan, it has not encountered the problems
