"Tiffany's" shown without Rooney parts in Japan?

I feel like I'm asking a lot of questions these days, but it's 
because I usually get answers here!

My latest question is not actually about Japanese cinema, so feel 
free to ignore: Is it true that Breakfast at Tiffany's has been shown 
in Japan, theatrically or on TV, with the Mickey Rooney segments (as 
the offensive Mr. Yunioshi) excised? Has anyone witnessed this 
firsthand?
