Just a quick heads up to let everyone know that the Japan Foundation UK have just announced dates and lineups for this year's touring season - some very interesting films here, few of which have played the UK before. Now in its sixth year, the Japan Foundation’s annual touring film programme looks at how Japanese filmmakers have been influenced by actual events, some of which have shaped the nation’s recent history. Screening at five venues across the UK, the six films included in the line-up range from 60s classics to the most recent productions and are among the best produced in Japan. This season showcases how real-life stories have been a source of inspiration for many filmmakers in Japan and how such events have been interpreted by them.Film line-up:A Chain of Islands (Nihon Retto) Kei Kumai, 1965Live Today, Die Tomorrow (Hadaka no jukyu sai) Kaneto Shindo, 1970Face (Kao) Junji Sakamoto, 2001Who's Camus Anyway?
