Reminder: Japanese Film Workshop

Dear KineJapaners,
I write to remind you that the second meeting of the Japanese Film
Workshop will be held TOMORROW (November 12), from 7:00 to 8:30pm, at
Meiji Gakuin University, Shirokane Campus. The venue is called "Kyozai
junbi shitsu," a room next to the office of the Department of Art
Studies, on the 6F of the main building. The workshop is open to all,
and directions to Meiji Gakuin can be found at:

Tomorrow's talk, entitled "The Alterity of Cinema: Subjectivity, Self-
Negation, and Self-Realization in Yoshida Kijû’s Film Theory," will be
given by Patrick Noonan, PhD candidate in Japanese film and literature
at University of California, Berkeley.
