Japanese queer/gay cinema

Riffing off Jim's last line, does anime count as cinema?

If so, there are any number of titles loosely categorized either as  
boys love, or yuri (lily).  Have your student ask someone in the  
local manga anime club.  Alternatively, we could begin to assemble a  
list here, but it could get rather long rather quickly.
