If the period in question is between 1959 and the release of "Seishun  
zankoku monogatari" in June 1960, or even through the late fall of  
1960, it's probably reasonable to assume that Oshima is talking about  
the Shochiku publicity department. As for verifying the position of  
Oda-san within the department, you'd probably have to dig up some old  
marketing collateral for the studio and hope it includes a list of  
staff.
